A plain-English summary of how 1518 treats inputs, anonymous analytics, and cookies.
Reference boundary
1518 pages explain Chinese naming and folk-culture systems as structured references. They are not professional advice.
Public reference pages
English pages are designed for browsing, search engines, and AI agents. They do not expose private user reports.
User inputs
Interactive tools may process names, dates, and other inputs to calculate a result. We do not store your raw IP address or your raw calculation inputs, and we do not build a personal profile. Do not enter information that you do not want to use for a reading.
Anonymous analytics
To improve the product we record anonymous usage events (page views, clicks, payment funnel). Your browser generates anonymous visitor and session identifiers (stored in your browser's localStorage / sessionStorage) that are sent with these events. The server stores only a one-way HMAC digest of those identifiers, never the raw identifiers, and the digest cannot be reversed. These identifiers contain no name, calculation content, or identity data. They are used only to aggregate traffic and to tell new visitors from returning ones — never for advertising profiles, and they are not sold. Clearing your browser data resets these anonymous identifiers, after which you are treated as a new visitor.
Cookies
We use necessary functional cookies. The main one, "1518_first_seen", is set by the server on your first visit to record your first-visit time, and powers the first-visit 24-hour trial price and returning-visitor analytics. When you use payment, order recovery, or WeChat authorization, we may also set the corresponding security and recovery cookies (for example payment return verification, recovery tokens, or WeChat OAuth state). These cookies are used only for functional and security purposes, are mostly httpOnly (not readable or modifiable by page scripts), are not used for advertising and are not sold, and are removed when you clear your browser data.
